Find the best foundation for dry skin whatever your skin woes may be

Dr Ross Perry is founder and Medical Director of Cosmedics Skin Clinics.
He explains that when it comes to makeup for dry skin, the first step is to care for the skin itself:
The first step is to work on improving the dryness itself, rather than trying to cover it up.
Then look for the right products, avoiding anything that could actually make it worse.
The first step is moisturising clean skin, as Dr Perry explains:
Choose a good quality light moisturiser that soaks in readily, rather than just sitting on the surface of the skin.
Leave it half an hour if you can before applying makeup, so that it is fully absorbed before adding make-up.
Choosing Foundation for Dry Skin
Certain types of foundation are better for dry skin. Dr Perry recommends a liquid, cream or hydrating powder which help to keep the skin moisturised. He warns:
Waterproof, matte finish and powder based foundations can be very drying.
Powder for Dry Skin
Normal procedure is to seal foundation with powder, but Dr Perry says for dry skin, this is best avoided:
After foundation, if you can skip the powder, do!
If you are prone to a ‘T-Zone’ shimmer, then use a light dusting of a mineral-based powder applied with a brush just to take the edge off any areas of shine.
Marie Claire's beauty writer Ava Kitcher outline a few foundations worth considering for dry skin, ranging in price from £22 to their' best foundation for dry mature skin' - the By Terry Terrybly Densiliss Foundation
, at £78.50
